    Dr. Wale Akinyemi,Founder, PowerTalks

    Wale Akinyemi is a passionate African whose singular purpose is
    transforming Africa one mind at a time. A Graduate of Demography and
    Social Statistics from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, he
    started his career as a research assistant with the Institute for Policy and
    Strategic Studies in Kuru Nigeria. He pioneered the International Faith
    Embassies, a Faith based organization dedicated to training and raising
    leaders for community impact between 1994 to 1998.
    In 1998 he left for the United States where he established Hands for the
    Nations, a non profit organization designed to create synergies between
    American based organizations and African communities. Through this
    initiative he was able to raise significant strategic support for a number
    of African governments and initiatives. He was also able to raise
    significant support for the city of Mombasa in Kenya for which the then
    Mayor awarded him with the keys to the city of Mombasa.

    In 2003 he returned to Nigeria where he established PowerTalks
    as a corporate and personal development consulting firm
    which has been at the forefront of personal development drives
    across the continent. PowerTalks has spread its tentacles to 22
    African Nations and is growing. He has served as a consultant
    for some of the largest institutions in the world including
    companies like Google and Oracle and in the technology sector,
    Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom in the telecommunications sector;
    banks like Absa, Kenya Commercial Bank, Stanbic Bank among
    others in the banking sector. He has also worked for top
    insurance firms as well as the Association of Kenya Insurers.

    He has served as a consultant for the United Nations, an adviser
    to governments, and has served as a speech writer for leaders
    in both public and private sector. In 2017 he served as a
    consultant for the Supreme court of Kenya . He has also served
    as a facilitator at the Kenya School of Government teaching
    Transformational Leadership to the highest levels of
    government. He is an author of 19 books and a newspaper
    columnist and regarded by many as one of the most inspiring
    thought leaders on the African continent.

    He is the founder of Street University which is an online platform
    that connects mentors from around the world with those who need
    mentoring. The platform also serves as a place where young people
    who want to go into entrepreneurship are trained, funded and
    launched. The platform has over 30,000 enrollments and over 175
    courses with students from 40 nations.
    He is a recipient of a number of awards and honors from both faith
    based and corporate organizations around the world.
