Duncan Onyango, Executive Chairman, KIFFWA

Duncan Onyango has 30+ years of senior management experience in leading large-scale investment, small and medium sized enterprise (SME) support and infrastructure projects across East Africa. He currently serves as Executive Chair of the Kenya Innovative Finance Facility for Water (KIFFWA) and Board Director at the Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund. Prior to this he was Chief Executive Officer at Pharo Ventures and led the UK funded Sustainable Urban Economic Development (SUED) programme which is supporting towns in Kenya to develop Urban Economic Plans that attract investment for climate resilient infrastructure and value chain projects. Prior to SUED Duncan was responsible for a $40 million investment portfolio into social enterprises as the East Africa Director at Acumen Fund.

He has an in-depth understanding of the business and political climate across East Africa having achieved many milestones such as delivering Kenya’s first public private partnership, attracting investment of close to $290 million as CFO at Rift Valley Railways.
