Njeri Kirumbi,Africa Regional Director, WaterEquity

Ms Njeri Kirumbi is the Regional Director for Africa at WaterEquity, where she leads investments to financial institutions in Africa to expand access to financing for water and sanitation. She is responsible for portfolio management, deal structuring, due diligence, and strategy development. She brings 10+ years of diverse experience in impact investing in Africa across various thematic funds, including climate change, energy, financial inclusions, and education. Before joining WaterEquity, Njeri was the Deputy Regional Director for Africa at BlueOrchard Finance. She led the Africa team in providing debt finance to financial institutions across the region. Before BlueOrchard, Njeri was an Investment Officer at ResponsAbility, overseeing debt investments in Africa, primarily in the energy and microfinance sectors.

Njeri received her Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Nairobi and Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Oxford Brookes University. In addition, she has completed the Oxford Women’s Leadership Development Programme from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
