Sareen Malik, Executive Secretary of the African Civil Society Network for Water and Sanitation (ANEW), Vice Chair Steering Committee SWA Partnership and Board Member of CEWAS
Sareen leads ANEW , the umbrella organisation of water and sanitation NGOs in Africa , present in over 50 countries . She currently holds the position of Vice Chair on the SWA Steering Committee. With over 15 years experience in the field of water and sanitation governance and restructuring WASH NGOs , she focuses on working with NGOs, governments and the private sector to meaningfully engage in the water and sanitation sector , mobilising voice around the call to action that good governance in Water and Sanitation is key to improved sector performance . Sareen, a lawyer by training , has widely published and supported the development of sector governance tools for state and non state actors globally . She currently supports the WAKE UP Acceleration Programme in East Africa , by supporting innovators and entrepreneurs to create social and environmental impact
